Abstract

The study was about the assessment of quality of life in women pre operative and post operative hysterectomy patient. It's a prospective study carried out in 1 year (July 2015 to June 2016). The study was carried out in 300 bedded tertiary care hospitals. The department selected for the study was gynaecology. The patient underwent hysterectomy surgery were selected. A patient information form has been prepared to inform the patient about the purpose and necessity of the study. The quality of life was evaluated using questionnaire. There are two set of questionnaires. Pre operative questionnaire before surgery and post operative questionnaire after surgery were given to the patient's. There are score's given to each question. Per operative and post operative has been compared. The study population was about 50. Quality of life score before hysterectomy mean standard deviation value 14.34694±3.755546 and after hysterectomy mean standard deviation value 8.693878±3.70991 p value < 0.0001A significantly lower score was observed in patients after hysterectomy surgery. Quality of life scores showed a statistically significant p value<0.05 with 95% confidence interval. By comparing with before hysterectomy surgery after hysterectomy surgery quality of life was improved by decreasing the complication and score.

Abstract

The Tacrine loaded mPEG-PCL nanoparticles were prepared by emulsion polymerization and solvent evaporation method, to improve the bioavailability of the drug in brain. The nanoparticulate formulation was characterized for particles size, encapsulation efficiency, zeta potential and in vitro release study. The pharmacokinetic studies of Tacrine-loaded mPEG-PCL nanoparticles were carried out in Sprague dawley rats. The study revealed C_max and T_max were significantly altered and Clearance was less in brain and blood when compared to that of plain Tacrine solution. These results suggest that mPEG-PCL nanoparticles had considerably increased the transport of Tacrine across the BBB.

Abstract

The present investigation was undertaken to develop nanoparticles of a hydrophilic drug pramipexole dihydrochloride and improve the entrapment efficiency of the drug. Pramipexole dihydrochloride nanoparticles where prepared with two methods by using Chitosan and another method by utilizing Chitosan, sodium alginate and Pluronic F-127. Five different trials were prepared with different concentrations of Chitosan in both methods. In two methods variables were found to have significant effect on the particle size, entrapment efficiency of drug which is influenced by Chitosan and sodium alginate. The maximum entrapment efficiency and least particle size were obtained with 3% Chitosan along with sodium alginate PS3 of 220.7 nm with 32.4 mV zeta potential with 91.2 % entrapment efficiency but in PC3 with 3% Chitosan show least particle size of 252nm with 44.7 mV zeta potential but less entrapment efficiency 82.8 % of than PS3.The surface morphology of PC3 and PS3 shows smooth surface with the in vitro release of PC3 with 90.2 %, PS3 with 96.12% in 24 hrs. PS3 shows better entrapment efficiency than PC3, Hence preparation methods along with two polymers may influence in entrapment efficiency of pramipexole dihydrochloride nanoparticles which meet the treatment of Parkinson's disease which has a potential influence on brain-targeting.

Abstract

Nanotechnology is a growing research field dealing with the creation and manipulation of materials at a nanometer scale for the better treatment, diagnosis and imaging of diseases. The expansion of novel nanocarriers for drug delivery is an exciting and challenging research filed, in particular for the delivery of emerging cancer therapy. Over the years, cancer targeting treatment has been greatly improved by new tools and approaches based on this nanotechnology. The use of nanocarriers has improved the bioavailability, in vivo stability, intestinal absorption, solubility, sustained and targeted delivery of several anticancer agents. Nanocarriers are much promising in cancer therapy by selectively gaining access to tumor due to their small size and modifiability. This review provides a brief overview of the general principle of drug targeting to cancer and variety of carriers employed for targeted drug delivery used in cancer therapy and summarizes advantages and disadvantages of each approach. Particularly, the attention was paid to liposomes, micelles, nanoshells, nanowires, fullerene, dendrimers, gold nanoparticles and paramagnetic nanoparticles, quantum dots, solid lipid nanoparticles, polymeric nanocarriers and carbon nanotubes.
